New year, let’s break the silence. A new album from my sidekick Bitmapper called ‘Andalismo’.
In January 2019 i was on vacation in south Spain, visited cities like Valencia, Ronda, Granada, Seville, Cadiz and Malaga…that trip had a deep impact on me, so i’ve decided to write some kind of an audio diary to my journey influenced by the great Andalusia.

In 2018 i finally purchased Teenage Engineering’s OP-1 synth/sampler, and at that time had no chance to explore this machine to its full potential. So i thought ok, my Andalusian journey + two weeks with an OP-1 = sounds like a nice concept record ahead! It was a great opportunity for me to finally dive deep into device and write a whole album just using OP-1 and nothing more. After 1,5 weeks of hard work (plus 2 days took the mastering session) ‘Andalismo’ was born - an album, or better call it an audio diary, heavily influenced by my Andalusian journey which i will never forget!

Usually all Bitmapper records are based around hip hop boom bap beats, but this time i’ve decided to push myself hard and forward, use other mediums for this project, so i’ve mixed and fused different things which had great influence on me for the past 3 years or so. Here you will find everything, from classic 808 laidback beats, field recordings, cinematic ambient to the psychedelic new age revivals and hypnotic blessings. A perfect demonstration what Teenage Engineering’s OP-1 can really do and a nice record to listen to this spring days.
